Napoleonville

Starting Point

To assist a specific rural homeless population, Start developed this program to provide aid in locating and securing safe and affordable permanent housing for persons who are homeless and disabled in Assumption Parish. The services in this program also include, but are not limited to: skills training, locating housing, financial support, and other services necessary in maintaining permanent housing. Assertive Community Treatment techniques work well for participants in this program due to limitations of a rural area like Assumption Parish, such as lack of transportation and community resources. Referrals can be made directly to Start Corporation by other agencies or as a self-referral. This program is funded by HUD McKinney grant funds and other community donations. (Capacity: Program can assist up to 24 individuals or families)
